The digital transformation challenges small and medium-sized businesses. “Digital in NRW – Competence for SMEs” prepares the topics of digitization and networking specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises in North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond the state borders and makes free and practice-oriented offers for joint implementation. Whether information on Industry 4.0 topics, artificial intelligence or the implementation of concrete technologies: Digital in NRW enables you to approach Industrie 4.0 – no matter what level of digitalization your products and processes are at.

Süddeutscher Verlag Veranstaltungen GmbH is a company of Süddeutscher Verlag, Munich, a subsidiary of Südwestdeutsche Medienholding, Stuttgart. More than 100 trade events and functions benefit from the proximity and cooperation with the media of Süddeutscher Verlag, including a large number of trade information offerings and, of course, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germany’s largest national quality newspaper.

The Center for Logistics and Transport (ZLV) brings together a variety of chairs for the interdisciplinary conception, management and transfer of scientific work related to logistics, mobility and transport from different departments of the University of Duisburg-Essen. In doing so, the ZLV is oriented toward innovations that are sustainable in the long term, economically beneficial, socially acceptable, and ecologically safe.

Fraunhofer IML is considered the address for all questions concerning holistic logistics and works in all fields of internal and external logistics. Founded in 1981, Fraunhofer IML currently employs 260 scientists and 250 doctoral candidates and students, supported by colleagues in workshops, laboratories and service areas.

The FVI – with more than 500 members from medium-sized companies, large-scale industry, science and politics – is proactive in the field of industrial maintenance. Knowledge transfer and the identification of future trends in the field of maintenance are special concerns of the FVI.

The aim of the non-profit association MFA is the international practice-oriented exchange of knowledge between business and science in the fields of maintenance, facility management and technical service. The MFA sees itself as an information and communication platform and offers its members a variety of special services. The association is the official Austrian representation in the European network of EFNMS (European Federation of National Maintenance Societies).

155,000 engineers are members of Europe’s largest technical and scientific association, the VDI. The VDI Association of German Engineers provides important impetus for new technologies and technical solutions for a better quality of life, a better environment and more prosperity.

VVL – Under the umbrella of the VVL association (Verein zur Förderung innovativer Verfahren in der Logistik e.V.), scientific institutes are active that support small and medium-sized companies in particular in identifying internal company problems, solving them, implementing the knowledge gained and, if necessary, accompanying these until they are ready for the market. Since its foundation in 1985, the VVL has been able to constantly expand its fields of activity due to extensive expert knowledge and many years of experience.

The task of the Wirtschaftsverband für Industrieservice e.V. (WVIS) is to comprehensively communicate the broad spectrum of the industry, to bundle competencies and to project a representative image of the industry to the outside world. We do this in close contact with our member companies and by taking current practical issues into account. The association currently represents industrial service providers with sales of around 13 billion euros and more than 120,000 employees.
